2011 Oswego County EMS Banquet and Awards


The EMSAC Awards Committee is soliciting nominations for the second EMSAC Awards Banquet, to be held in June 2011.   This event for EMS Providers and those who support them will honor those who have shown excellence in their field.   Nomination forms and award categories are attached. Nominations are due Feb. 1, 2011. The winners will be selected prior to the banquet.

Award types:

ALS Provider of the Year: An ALS provider who stands out for excellence. This person should be someone who has made a significant difference in the county, whether it is through actions or accomplishments.

BLS Provider of the Year: A BLS provider who stands out for excellence. This person should be someone who has made a significant difference in the county, whether it is through actions or accomplishments.

  EMS Educator of the Year: This award is meant for an EMS educator who has had a major impact on training and education in Oswego County EMS.

  Physician of Excellence: A physician who has a significant influence on EMS. This person should be someone whom EMS providers hold in high regard based on knowledge and ability to communicate.

  RN of Excellence: A registered nurse who exhibits exceptional skill and knowledge in his/her profession. This award is meant for nurses who go above and beyond the call of duty.

  EMS Leadership Award: This award is meant for someone whose leadership skills have impacted the EMS field.

  Communications Award: This award is meant for a 911 employee whose actions have impacted the EMS field.

  EMS Rookie of the Year: An ALS or BLS provider who has been in the system at their current certification for less than two years and has already been shown to have a significant and positive effect on EMS in Oswego County.

  Life Saving Award: This award is for providers who have saved a patient’s life. A save is defined as a patient who was found in respiratory and/or cardiac arrest and, because of the actions of a provider, the patient is discharged from the hospital alive.
